Application for Admission to the Alliance for Global Education Programs - India

Applications for 2009 are currently being accepted.

In addition to the online application there are some supplemental forms that will need to be completed and mailed to the Alliance. They are the following:

Application deadlines

Spring 2009 - November 1, 2008
Summer 2009 - March 1, 2009
Fall 2009 - April 15, 2009

Students applying for more than one term (for example, academic year or spring and summer) should apply by the deadline for the first term they will attend.

Application Requirements

Students must have permission from their home school to study abroad, and must not be on academic or disciplinary probation.

Required minimum GPA is 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.

  • Non-refundable $50 Application Fee:

Make your check or money order payable to The Alliance for Global Education.

  • 4 Photographs:

Size: 2" x 2" (passport size). Full-face. Please print your name on the back of each photo. We cannot be responsible for photos without names on them. The photos are used for identification and visa purposes only.

  • Official Transcript:

This must be official and show credits and grades for all courses taken to date. Transfer students must submit official transcripts from each institution attended. All summer school work should be similarly documented.

  • Passport Photo Page

Please make a copy of your passport photo page and email this scanned copy to jlevy@allianceglobaled.org. This document is required for visa authorization purposes.

This statement of purpose must address your interest in studying India and this Alliance program specifically, as well as provide background on your academic interests, international or intercultural experiences, and any other relevant personal information.

  • Student Visa Authorization Form [pdf]

A student visa authorization from the American Institute of Indian Studies (AIIS) must be obtained before applying for a student visa to the Indian Consulate. You must complete the sections in RED with your personal information and disregard the photo request. Then send a scanned copy of the document to Julia Levy at jlevy@allianceglobaled.org or by fax at 215-572-2174. This application is required before you can be accepted to the program.

Study Abroad Advisor's Form [pdf]

Indicate your program choices and the study period and sign this form before you submit it to your dean, study abroad advisor or other home campus official responsible for approving study abroad.

Academic Recommendation Forms [pdf]

Indicate your program choices and the study period, and sign this form before you submit it for completion by a faculty member who is familiar with your performance in the lassroom.

Two (2) academic recommendations are required for admission.

Signed Waiver [pdf]

All applicants must complete and return the signed waiver form before acceptance can be confirmed.

Housing Preference Form [pdf]

Every attempt will be made to accommodate studentsŐ housing preferences, but they cannot be guaranteed.

Course Selection Form [pdf]

Students must indicate and rank course preferences as part of the application process, though there will be an open enrollment add-drop period for the first two weeks of the coursework period.

Internship/Directed Research Forms [pdf]

Students must indicate their academic and/or professional interests for the nternship/directed research component. Though this can be modified during the coursework period, it is used to begin the placement and faculty matching process.
